Qiqi Arrived 29/10/26
The first time I saw Qiqi’s photos, I thought she was gorgeous. But to be fair, I wasn’t particularly impressed.
These days, with all the filters, beauty apps and heavily edited photos floating around online, it’s hard to know what’s real anymore. Almost anyone can look stunning in pictures.
Then I met her at the airport.
And wow… I wasn’t prepared for that.
You know how, somehow, your eyes can pick out the most beautiful girl in a crowd without even trying? It’s almost like a sixth sense.
Well, that’s exactly what happened.
There she was, tall and slender, with long, silky hair gently swaying in the breeze, reminding me of the willow branches along Park Terrace on a warm spring afternoon.
She was wearing a cute, preppy little jacket with a pleated skirt and white socks. Nothing particularly fancy, but somehow the whole look was absolutely captivating.
For a split second, she reminded me of my first girlfriend back in high school.
Not because they looked alike, but because there was something about Qiqi that brought back that same innocent, butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling I hadn’t experienced in years.
I could almost picture her walking beneath the cherry blossoms in Hagley Park, her hair catching the breeze as pink petals drifted around her.
If only she’d arrived a month earlier.
I would have taken her straight to the park, camera in hand, and captured that beautiful moment beneath the blossoms.
The funny thing is, she’s actually even prettier in person than in her photos.
And those eyes…
Big, bright, with just a hint of shyness and something a little mischievous hiding underneath.
When you talk to her, she looks straight at you, listening carefully. Then, just as you’re getting lost in those eyes, she’ll glance away with a little smile.
Such a simple thing.
Yet somehow, it’s incredibly charming.
At one point, a few strands of hair blew across her face. She casually tucked them behind her ear, revealing her delicate neck and the soft curve of her cheek.
I’ve seen that little gesture a thousand times.
But when she did it, I couldn’t take my eyes off her.
And I think that’s what makes Qiqi so special.
It’s the contrast.
She’s got this beautiful, tall, slender figure, a lovely waist and long, elegant legs. The kind of figure that would look amazing in just about anything.
Yet she has this wonderfully sweet, almost innocent face.
She’s not the sort of girl who needs to try hard to be sexy. In fact, she can be a little shy.
And strangely enough, that’s exactly what makes her so attractive.
There’s something incredibly alluring about a woman who doesn’t seem to realise just how beautiful she is.
I caught myself wondering what it would be like to take her for a walk along the Avon River, perhaps wearing a simple, figure-hugging summer dress.
Or maybe we’d spend a lazy afternoon at the café in Mona Vale, sitting outside beneath the trees.
I could imagine her resting her chin on her hand, listening to me ramble on about something completely unimportant.
The sunlight would filter through the leaves, leaving little patches of light across her face.
Then she’d look up, catch me staring, and give me that shy little smile again.
Honestly, I think I could happily spend an entire afternoon like that.
Now, here’s the embarrassing part.
I’ve met plenty of beautiful women over the years. You’d think by now I’d be fairly immune to a pretty face.
Apparently not.
Because standing there at the airport, I actually found myself a little nervous.
My heart was beating faster than usual, and for once, even my usual cheeky jokes seemed to have deserted me.
Not exactly my finest performance.
But perhaps that’s when I realised something.
Beautiful women aren’t particularly rare.
But a woman who can make your heart skip a beat, just by looking at you?
That’s something else entirely.
There’s an old Chinese poem that says:
“One graceful glance from her, and all the beauty in the world fades into nothing.”
I used to think that was a bit of an exaggeration.
Then I met Qiqi.
And suddenly, it made perfect sense.
My only regret is that Christchurch’s cherry blossoms had already come and gone by the time she arrived.
But never mind.
The cherry blossoms will bloom again next spring.
And there will always be other beautiful girls coming and going.
But a girl like Qiqi, someone who can make you fall for her in a single glance?
Well, you don’t come across someone like that every day.
And if you let that moment pass, you might never get another chance.
Young girl, one of the best
